EOCO Picks Up Liberal Party Leader Kofi Akpaloo

The Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) has reportedly arrested the leader of the Liberal Party of Ghana (LPG), Kofi Akpaloo, in Kumasi.

According to sources, the dawn operation was conducted by EOCO’s Surveillance and Asset Recovery Unit (SARU) from its headquarters in Accra, in collaboration with the agency’s Ashanti Regional Office.

Insiders say the arrest was carried out peacefully, without incident.

While the exact reasons for Akpaloo’s arrest remain unclear, reports indicate that he is being transported to Accra to assist investigators with ongoing inquiries.

As of now, EOCO has not issued an official statement regarding the matter.
