Bibiani GoldStars have been brutally knocked out from the 2025 CAF Champions League after suffering a humiliating 5-0 defeat to Algerian giants JS Kabylie in Tizi Ouzou on Sunday.

The Ghana Premier League champions debut campaign in the competition has ended disappointingly in the preliminary round having suffered a drubbing 7-0 aggregate to their Algerian counterparts.

GoldStars who lost the first leg 2-0 in Accra endured a nightmare start after goalkeeper Emmanuel Kobi sensationally turned the ball into his own net just seven minutes into the game.

The hosts quickly held the game by the scruff of the neck and dominated possession in every aspect but could only double their lead in the 29th minute through Ryad Boudebouz.

Mehdi Merghem added a third midway through the second half to put the contest beyond reach for the visitors. But GoldStars were completely undone after defender Emmanuel Ankrah was shown a red card on the hour mark, and the hosts took advantage of their superior numbers.

Lahlou Akhrib drilled home the fourth just minutes later before Oualid Maliki completed the thrashing with a stoppage-time effort to send Kabylie through in an emphatic style as GoldStars debut in the CAF Flagship tournament crashed.
